Training of instructors

training of instructors

Professional training or professional experience in the practical training with the employer is most often carried out by students under the guidance of the chief instructor or instructor, whose mission and role is crucial in terms of achieving good student outcomes.

A natural person who, for the first time, takes up the activity of chief instructor or instructor must complete training within one year, the content of which is defined by legislation. The training is provided by the relevant professional organization. Practical training for employers can be provided in the dual education system or in the school education system

Training of instructors in the dual education system

On the basis of a mutual agreement of all professional organizations associated in the Employers 'Council for the Dual Education System from 1st April 2019, National Union of Employers provides training of the main instructors for SDV. Employers also have the opportunity, through a trained chief instructor, on the basis of a power of attorney from the relevant professional organization, in accordance with the established methodology, to prepare instructors according to their needs and under their own charge.

What is the goal of training the main instructors?

To provide chief instructors with basic information about SDV, about the rights and obligations of employers and about planning and organizing training, to develop their skills in the area of motivating and accompanying students in practical training and to prepare them to work with students so that the student gains professional competence and after completing the preparations they became a full member of the working team.

What is the content of the training of chief instructors and who trains chief instructors??

The content of the training of instructor training is regulated by § 21b of Act no. 61/2015 Coll. on vocational education and training and focuses on:

  1. Ensuring the rights and obligations of the student in practical teaching
  2. Organization of practical training
  3. Measures to ensure safety and health in practical training
  4. Material security of the student
  5. Financial security of the student
  6. Educational standards of practical training for the relevant study/teaching field
  7. Basic knowledge of pedagogy, psychology, and didactics
  8. Coordination of practical training in SDV
  9. The method of participation of the chief instructor in the evaluation and classification of the student

We want the training to be an inspiring experience for the participants - the whole preparation, therefore, takes place in an interactive form. It is implemented through modules, which are divided into a legislative part, focused on the organization and implementation of practical training at the employer, and accompanying the student in practical training - pedagogy, psychology.

The training of chief instructors is provided by our team of professionally prepared and experienced lecturers.

What is the process of training chief instructors?

The preparation is carried out in full-time (training) and distance form, while the full-time form has two phases, which are a guarantee of comprehensive training of the chief instructors. The first phase lasts two days and is focused on acquiring basic knowledge in the field of legislation and psychology. The second phase, which lasts a day, again focuses on pedagogy, the way the student is taught in practical classes and the end of training with the subsequent acquisition of a certificate. Between the first and second phase, there is time for a distance form of training, which provides space for independent study with the possibility of online consultation with the training instructor of the chief instructors. After completing the training, the instructors receive a certificate, which is a confirmation of completion of the instructor's training and the specialization of preparation.

The certificate of the chief instructor and instructor for the dual education system is issued by the relevant trade or professional organization valid for a period of seven years.

Training of instructors in the school education system

In the school education system, a secondary vocational school is responsible for all vocational education and training, including practical training. It decides on the selection of employers and students who will participate in practical training. The training of instructors may be carried out, on the basis of a power of attorney from the relevant trade or professional organization, by a secondary vocational school, which has a contract with the employer on the provision of practical training.
